Mit Pinsel und Feder: »Avanti ist Farbe!«
Peter Georg Studer alias Giorgio Avanti, 1946 in Luzern geboren, ist Jurist, Maler und Verfasser von Epik und Lyrik. Er lebt seit 1980 im Kanton Zug, wo er mehrere Jahre dem Vorstand der Zuger Kunstgesellschaft angehörte. Seit Mitte der Siebzigerjahre stand bzw. steht Avanti in regelmässigem geistigem Austausch mit Kulturschaffenden seines Freundeskreises, die ihn geprägt und zum eigenen schöpferischen Ausdruck motiviert haben. Innerhalb weniger Jahre gelang es dem Autodidakten, sich in der Innerschweizer Kunstszene zu etablieren. Die Werke des Künstlers wurden bisher in zahlreichen regionalen und schweizweiten Einzel- und Gruppenausstellungen gezeigt. Im Herbst 2019 fand in der Luzerner »Kornschütte« unter dem Motto »Avanti!« eine grosse Retrospektive seines Schaffens statt. Im November des gleichen Jahres richtete das City-Hotel »Ochsen« in Zug einen ständigen »Avanti-Raum« ein. Giorgio Avantis malerisches Werk umfasst heute mehr als 2000 Bilder. Eng verwoben mit der bildnerischen Entwicklung sind die verschiedenen Buchpublikationen aus der Feder Avantis.
With Brush and Pen: Avanti IS Colour!
Peter Georg Studer alias Giorgio Avanti, born in Lucerne in 1946, is by profession a lawyer and by passion and inclination a painter and writer of both narrative literature and lyric poetry. Ever since 1980, he has been living in the Canton of Zug, Switzerland, where he was for several years a Member of the Board of the Zug Art Society. Since the mid-1970s, Avanti has maintained and still maintain a regular intellectual exchange with various persons active in the cultural sector from among his circle of friends, who have influenced him and motivated him to adopt his own creative expression. Within a mere few years, the self-taught artist thus succeeded in establishing himself in the art scene of Central Switzerland. So far, the artist’s works have been shown in numerous regional and nationwide solo and group exhibitions. In autumn 2019, a major retrospective of his work took place at the Kornschütte in Lucerne under the motto of “Avanti!”. In November of the same year, the Ochsen Hotel in the city of Zug set up a permanent Avanti Room. Today, Giorgio Avanti’s painterly oeuvre comprises more than 2,000 works. Closely interwoven with his pictorial development are, moreover, the various books from Avanti’s pen.
